Hey gang. Here’s another status update post following this week’s releases of 31 and 32, as well as the batch torrent for 21-30, which can be found here.

Episodes.33-36: In QC. Actually, 36 is in editing for another day.
Episodes.37-38: In typesetting, then off to editing.
Episodes.39-40: Currently in timing.
Episodes.41-43: Not yet translated.

We’re coming around the final turn and about to hit the home stretch. The checkered flag is out and we can almost see the finish line! We’re looking forward to wrapping up the series near the end of the month, if scheduling permits us to. Between episodes 40 and 41, we’ll be taking a short break to release the extras included on the final DVD volume, which are three promotional trailers aired before Mobile Suit Gundam aired on television in 1979 as well as the textless OP/ED videos. Then we’ll move on to the final three episodes of this great series.

Well, it’s finally fraking done! After nearly five years to the date (2004.07.05 to be exact) of first announcing the project, the entire Crossbone Gundam series has been completed. My team and I are happy to finally release this shit so that I can cross off the biggest eyesore from our project list. This has haunted me from the very beginning and I can’t even begin to answer the question as to why it took us so long to release it. I guess you can all enjoy it this way in one giant Crossbone batch!

We will be following this up with the Steel 7 manga series. We’ve chosen to skip the Skull Heart manga. If you really wanna take a gander at that one, Lolfang from Nyoro~n Fansubs took the time out to translate it for all of you. Head on over to their website if you wanna read it (www.nyoronfansubs.org). Stay tuned for the exciting sequel to the Crossbone series, only from Zeonic|Scanlations! Hey gang. We’re abandoning the individual episode status updates for a while, just to keep things exciting and fun. Anyway, I know there was that long gap between 24 and 25 that we need to make up for, so here’s a brief look at where we stand on the remaining episodes:

Episodes.27-30: Currently in QC. Will be released as soon as QC is complete. (Sometime this week)
Episodes.31-32: Currently in Typesetting, then will be passed off to editing.
Episodes.33-35: Translated, but no additional work has been done yet.
Episodes.36-43: Not yet translated.

Also, those of you who have requested an XviD-encoded release of Mobile Suit Gundam will be happy to hear that we will be honoring your request. The catch is that we won’t even start that process until after we complete the H.264/MKV run of the series. I would begin releasing older episodes now, but it would only hinder me from putting solid work time in on as-of-yet unreleased episodes. We’ll handle the XviD release by releasing batch torrents that correspond to the same episodes as our MKV batch torrents. The whole process shouldn’t take more than a week or two after the release of the final episode, so please be patient.

[INTRODUCTION]

Zeonic|Scanlations is seeking a talented and patient senior editor to assist with specific series undertaken by the translators in our group. Project will revolve around pre-existing work as well as possible new and unreleased titles.

[DESCRIPTION OF POSITION]

The senior editor is tasked with the duty of ensuring that the translation of a particular project complies with proper English grammar, fluidity and accurateness.

[REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS]

• Native English Speaker
• Familiarity with Editing (Manga Editing Preferred)
• Knowledge of Localization
• Timely Turn Around Time
• Ability to Bring the Following to the Attention of the Translator:
  • awkward lines
  • nonsense translations
  • repetition
  • sentence fragments

RedTail, our former senior editor, has stepped down to our lack of activity during the recent year with many of the projects that he’s been working on. I’m hoping to get caught up on a lot of them this summer, which I’ve been doing so so far (with retranslations and what not). He was a huge asset to this group, and his departure from it will have reprecussions which are unknown at this time. There was a preview installment in this months Gundam Ace for a manga adaptation of the PS3 Gundam game. This comes out in the August issue (aka end of this month) of Gundam Ace and will mark both the 30th Gundam Anniversary as well as the 8th Anniversary for the magazine. This spread does not mean we’re translating the manga.
