Greetings Denizens,

As much as it pains me to say, the Zeonic|Scanlations website will officially be disbanding as of December 29th, 2009. As it stands, I’m unable to financially pay for the cost of the server(s) for the site, and through the gracious donations that I’ve received over the past six months, this has allowed me to continue operating the website. I’m unsure at this time whether or not we will be maintaining a WordPress blog, or whether you’ll just have to keep checking 4chan’s /m/ and what not for releases by us. If we do come back, it’ll have to be on the aforementioned blog software and the forums would have to be on the invisionfree ones.

I’m not saying that I’m going to abandon scanlating, just that there won’t be a home for us anymore after this month. I’m not asking for donations to save us, because well… people have donated and we haven’t really slapped anything out there (yet). In due time.

Until then, it’s been a pleasure interacting with everyone on the forums, and I wish all of you the best this holiday season. You know where to find me if you need to get in contact with me.

This is just a general notice that there may be a lapse in coverage for Zeonic|Scanlations. My bill is due on the 29th of this month, and I don’t think I’m gonna get the payment of my credit card in in time to cover it, so our server may be shut down and (possibly) deleted if it isn’t done in time. There’s no need to worry, if it goes down it goes down. We’ll be back.

Winter Update 2009

It’s that time of the year again… you know when I kinda post useless long-winded updates on the blog promising releases and not actually delivering? Well, today marks yet another one of those traditions. Nonetheless, I’m going to outline just where we stand on each of the [dozens of] projects that we currently have open. I’m officially done for the semester on Thursday, December 10th at 9:45am following a wrap-up dialogue with one of my Japanese professors for a project that I was involved in. So without further adieu, let me kick off the project standings!

The Gundam 00I series is going to hit a roadblock once I finish translating the third chapter. At the moment, the latest Gundam Ace issue that I have is the November.2009 one. Due to the yen to dollar exchange being utter shit, I haven’t been buying anything. That and combined with not having any money (heh no server money either), I haven’t been able to purchase anything anyways.

Seeing as how I no longer purchase the Dengeki Hobby series, would those of you who have subscriptions to this please contact me so that I may continue translating it? Currently Archive.02 is on hiatus because the HQ scans I have are cut off, thus preventing me from translating it. I’m also interested in Gundam 00N as well. And I guess we will be nuking the Delta Astray and SEED FRAME ASTRAYS adaptations as well due to little demand/interest in the series. If I need to be convinced otherwise, please let me know.

We do have an editor working on this series, however they have been delayed quite a bit due to real life issues. I’m currently working on bumping this around to other people to get it up and out. I do have quite a bit of this series translated and it’s my goal to try and complete this [boring] series before spring break of next year. If worse comes to worse, we’ll just release chapter by chapter since it goes faster that way.

This is definitely better than the original Crossbone series, and I’m having quite a bit of fun translating it. Hopefully we can produce a kick ass English adaptation of this for you. I’m being anal retentive with my translating and editing style with this series, just because I don’t want it to read like shit like the original Crossbone series did. And no, chances are we probably won’t be doing the Skull Heart volume.

I’m aware that I didn’t update Gundam 00F on here. Truthfully, I’m finding it hard to continue working on this project. Most people just bitch about the main characters and what they do, so I’m not sure if it is really relevant to peoples interests. Then again, I’d love to rub the “gothic lolita” material in the face of a certain someone who lives in the UK just to show him that his “observations” on the manga are grossly inaccurate, but… maybe I won’t.

As usual, donations are awesome. I’m considering abandoning the torrenting system and may possibly come up with a new gallery software with a direct download option built in. Or, I may just opt for a gallery only release, but I haven’t decided yet. Input on this matter would be appreciated.
