BACKGROUND
A large land battle craft that became the focal point for unit deployment on the ground since the Principality of Zeon forces drop operations. The craft differ from their Federation counterparts in that they move via caterpillars. It appears to be relatively inferior to that of the Big Tray-class in terms of firepower.
Although the Dobday is called a boat, it was an unusual type that used crawlers for its movement system. In fact, this weapon was not purely of Zeon manufacture, and it was a hybrid that borrowed its chassis and other parts from a command post that was being constructed by a weapons development bureau in Russia. In their planetary invasion operation, the Zeon forces gained control of Eastern Europe and the regions to the east. As a result, they were able to make use of the weapons that were being developed in the occupied nations, and it is believed that this helped reduce the burden on the military and production systems of the Zeon homeland. The most distinctive feature of the Dobday was its design emphasis on projectile rather than optical weapons. Russia had traditionally excelled in manufacturing artillery, and it is said that the creation of this vehicle’s large cannons was made possible by the cooperation of these Russian engineers.
