SUMMARY
【あらすじ】

Universal Century 0079. Having lost both his parents in an attack by one of Zeon’s Zaku II mobile suits, the young Cain Ragnard brought together war orphans to seek revenge and enlisted in the “Shadows”, the special forces established by the Earth Federation Forces. Having grown up with those same war orphans, Cain was tasked with the extermination of Zeon remnants as leader of “Shadows” Team 5.

Soon after having finished a mission to get rid of a corrupt politician in connection with Zeon remnants, Cain receives a summons from the “Shadows” founder, Vice Admiral Ru’Ans Yergi. Looked up to like a father, Vice Admiral Yergi handed down a mission to Cain that was to capture “Hell’s Gate”, a Zeon remnant base in the Middle East.

Cain descended upon “Hell’s Gate” together with his close friends and subordinates Zalf Wakken and Lynece Saintes.

However, they’re ambushed by a group of Zeon remnant mobile suits. It was all a conspiracy of the ringleader of the remnants, Canora Zongzi and Vice Admiral Yergi. The mission to capture “Hell’s Gate” was a trap to eliminate Cain and the others as sacrificial pawns.

With Zalf and Lynece lost in the fierce attack by the enemy, Cain barely escapes alive in a stolen HLV. Sunk in despair at having his precious comrades robbed from him, he swears revenge against Yergi and Zongzi while wandering outer space.

Drifting in space, Cain was discovered by the Shutendouji led by Wings Heuser.

The Shutendouji make a living by repeatedly plundering based at their colony Rodinia that sits in the old Side 4 region. They are people who lost their homeland to a poisonous gas operation by the Zeon forces during the One Year War and in the past were abandoned by the Federation government.

One day, while in the middle of plundering, the Shutendouji come under attack by mobile suits of the Zeon Remnants “Falaq”. The quarrel results from them being shot down.

Though Faraq, led by Rogui Negidrum, brandishes their overwhelming military power and presses for submission, Wings vehemently refuses. Both sides confrontation becomes definite.

Later on, Faraq leads a mobile suit squadron and attacks the Shutendouji. Wings and the others launch to intercept them. Even though the battle unfolded for Wings and the others on more than equal terms from the get go, the situation changed completely with an enemy snipers shots. The Shutendouji fell into a state of devestation. Their backs were against the wall. However, it was a single shot from a GM Sniper Custom piloted by Cain that saved them…

Lynece Saintes: The only woman in “Shadows” Team 5. Rank is Ensign. She’s been aquainted with Cain and Zalf since enlisting in the military. Her personal unit is the RGM-79C GM Kai.

Zalf Wakken: Member of the “Shadows” Team 5. Rank is Lieutenant JG. Prides himself in softening the mood with his humorous nature. His personal unit is the RGM-79C GM Kai.
