Roughly 300 years ago, humanity drove civilization to the brink of extinction in the Calamity War. The Barbatos is an ancient mobile suit constructed during those times. Even with the technology at that time, due to the difficulty of operating two Ahab Reactors in parallel at high power, they rolled out 72 units utilizing the Gundam frame.
Barbatos is a rare mobile suit bearing the name Gundam among the 72 registered. The frame uses inertial control to reduce the heavy burden on the pilot to operate at high mobility and high power through Ahab Particles generated by the phase transitions in the reactor’s vacuum device. The positioning of the cockpit in front of the reactor was also made for this purpose. Among the other same frames, Barbatos has been adjusted for versatility, having the ability to adapt to any situation and exchange various parts.
For a long time, this mobile suit has served as a power source for CGS. When Gjallarhorn attacks, the boys of CGS hastily activate it, and Mikazuki becomes its pilot. Because it has been so long since the Calamity War, its armor has deteriorated, and it can no longer display its original performance.
