After being defeated in two competitions within the AEUG due to various circumstances, plans for the MSZ-008 ZII, developed as the true successor to the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam, had been temporarily abandoned, without ever seeing official adoption.
However, things changed when a few units were created by those within the AEUG staff headquarters who sought war with the Neo Zeon. Several improved units were built using actual combat data obtained from the battle to capture Axis.
The MSZ-008 ZII V-type model had enhanced hand-to-hand combat abilities, with its distinguishing features being its head and somewhat modified armor. Its arms were altered to be the same standard as the MSZ-006, so that a weapon on the arm could also be operated.
Currently, Lieutenant Thane Amadio’s unit is the only one confirmed.
