Universal Century 0079. The Asian front. Although the Federation Forces momentarily pulled back from the front lines, they were steadily cornering the Zeon Forces with overwhelming resources. And, a mop-up operation was being carried out by the Federation Forces against them at the last remaining base in Lhasa. While the 08th Team was included in this battalion, they were astonished by the Federation’s novice mish-mashing. Just then, the Apsalus 3 appears for it’s final blow as Shiro and the others come face to face with it’s overwhelming destructive power.

OVA VERSUS NOVEL
【ＯＶＡ版対小説版】

There are several noticeable differences between the OVA version and the novelization. Since the novels were penned after the series made its debut, more details could be fleshed out in it. This includes some scene changes and minor plot tweakings. Below are two major points:

– Kiki is actually raped by some Federation soldiers and ultimately commits suicide as a result.
– The Kerguelen manages to escape but only due to the valiant efforts of others sacrificing their lives to protect it. The novel illustrates their desperate fight to escape and apparently plays into the reader quite nicely.
