As the pride of the Principality Forces, it was the largest military vessel of the One Year War. This class, however, did not belong to the Federation Forces at the time. This ship, with over 100 mobile suits on board, is equipped with 8 twin-barrel mega particle cannons and moves via 5 thermonuclear rocket engines; a virtual mobile fortress. Not only did it have transport capabilities, but also supply and maintenance capabilities at the rear of the craft.

Although the exact number of mobile suits on board is unknown, it is generally regarded to be 182 units. Given that the Federation Forces Columbus-class space transports were responsible for the transfer and resupply of one mobile suit company, you can see just how extraordinary this is ship is. According to one theory, it is said that the Dolos-class was equipped with a huge centralized cooling system in order to operate a large number of mobile suits. Mobile suits are launched via seven catapults. The arm-like structure jutting out from the front of the hull is something like a bridge where mobile suit launching and landing guidance is given.

Development on this ship was undertaken in December U.C.0078. This was a late development among the military vessels of the Principality forces and the development itself was regarded as top secret. However, the main thrusters were poorly chosen, and acceleration performance fell far short of specific thrust during planning. This was due in part of a change to the armors thickness after the selection of the main thrusters, so there was a problem with specific thrust. Although output was high, due to the hull being too large, cruising capabilities were not that efficient. For this reason, the Dolos became an incomplete ship that couldn’t reach necessary acceleration performance, and the concept of a mechanized unit with the ship as its core also vanished. However, the heavy armor and heavy firepower not unlike that of a carrier mad this ship a small fortress.

It is said that three Dolos-class ships were constructed and the Dolos and Doroa were confirmed to have been introduced into combat.

The Dolos is known as the first ship of the Dolos-class. In the final stages of the One Year War, it was dispatched to Granada from the Principality mainland. But at this time the Dolos, under the direct order of Supreme Commander Gihren Zabi, is said to have Lieutenant Challia Bull, a member of Vice Admiral Kycilia Zabi’s Newtype Corps, on board (alt. theory). Following that, the Dolos was deployed to the defense line between Granada and A Baoa Qu. However, on December 31, it was deployed to N-Field at the battle of A Baoa Qu and fought against the invading Federation Forces from here.

The Doroa was also introduced into the battle at A Baoa Qu. The Doroa was commissioned around July U.C.0079. Initially it was scheduled to be deployed to Granada to be attached to the Mobile Assault Forces. It is said that Rear Admiral Kycilia Zabi handed it over to Vice Admiral Dozle Zabi (who assigned it to the Space Attack Forces) as necessary arrangements in order to get approval for the establishment of the Strategic Naval Intelligence Unit (Principality Forces submarine fleet). The Doroa was deployed to Solomon in an incomplete outfit, and it is hard to say that its functions were complete during the stage of battle in the Solomon Sea on December 24. Following the fall of Solomon, the Doroa along with other ships withdrew from the sector and headed for A Baoa Qu. The Doroa was deployed to the S-Field at the battle of A Baoa Qu and despite putting up a good fight, it sank immediately after the Dolos was shot down. After sinking these two Dolos-class ships, the Federation Forces overpowered the Principality Forces defending A Baoa Qu, ultimately forcing them to surrender. As a digression, the Doroa is also known to have been the ship of Lieutenant Anavel Gato (at the time) known by the name “Nightmare of Solomon.”

Some sources claim that interplanetary travel is possible and that it was utilized by the Jupiter fleet to secure heavy hydrogen (deuterium) and that the Dolos was present during the battle of Loum.
