ZZ Volume.02 Chapter.05
Chapter.05 Triple Geze
The Neo Zeon’s Earth descent forces entered geostationary orbit around the Earth. They were so close that land patterns could be made out. On the bridge of the Argama, which was pursuing them at high speed, the crew captured sight of the fleet ahead of them. As Bright sat in the captain’s seat, he had no time to reminisce about Emary’s goodbye tears or the soft touch of her body.
Keithron informs Bright that their target appears to be Dakar. An analysis on the monitor showed their anticipated course. Dakar was the location of the Federation government’s central organization and where the Federation Parliament building was that Quattro Bajeena gave his famous speech at. The results of this speech cast the AEUG in a more favorable light, which led to the Titans’ downfall. As such, Dakar had significant political importance.
Bright was agitated, saying they’re planning to head directly to the Federation Council and capture it. Just then, Torres tells him that there’s an incoming transmission from Karaba. They learn that Neo Zeon operatives have infiltrated Dakar. The General Assembly has decided to extend its session due to a lack of progress with their proceedings. A majority of the assemblymen have been placed under house arrest, and Axis has taken control of the city.
Bright is pissed. Everything was already set in motion. An alarm sounded throughout the ship, and the Argama moved to level one combat alert. Judau was the first to get his pilot suit on. Iino was next to join him. The two discuss whether Judau is going to save Leina, and he says he has some idea. The plan is to destroy the Endra’s ballute and leave her stranded in the atmosphere, and then he’ll take out the bridge with the Gundam and save his sister. They agree that it’s a good idea and that the remaining ships can be taken out with the Argama’s main gun.
Judau heads for the Zeta Gundam, but Roux tries to tell him that it’s for her to pilot. Iino tells her he’s desperate and just to let him do it for now. With a soured expression on her face, Roux drifts over to the Double Zeta. The Zeta Gundam blasts off from the catapult on the ship, transforming into wave rider mode and shooting off towards Earth.
The Endra was at the tail end of the descent forces. Ple, who was on the bridge, whipped around when she heard the news of the Argama approaching. Glemy asks her where she’s going. Turning back at him, she had a shockingly cold look on her face. She says that the enemy is coming, so she’ll fight. He asks if she can, to which she replies if it’s what she’s supposed to do. Glemy presses her some more, asking what Judau is to her. She’s somewhat hesitant but still manages to say that he’s her enemy. Glemy orders her to go.
Glemy leaves command of the descent to Rakan and heads out as well. The inside of the Endra vibrates slightly as the ships take off. Leina stops her piano lessons, anxiously looking up. A female soldier next to her (playing her piano teacher) tells her that they’ll be finished shortly.
A black Qubeley appeared in front of the Zeta as he rushes towards the fleet’s points of light. Judau and Ple converse again, with Judau trying to convince her to stop, but Ple is rather steadfast, saying she won’t let him get away this time as she races after the Zeta. Glemy was monitoring the situation from his new model mobile suit, the Bawoo. He blows off the dummy meteorite and follows after the two craft to continue tracking things.
Remnants of a colony’s outer wall were floating by. The wave rider transformed into the Zeta and slid behind it. Cursing, Judau says he really should have come in the Double Zeta. But, he didn’t have time for regrets. The Quebeley launched its funnels and unleased a relentless barrage on him. He didn’t have much coverage, even among the colony wreckage, to avoid the funnels. His shield blown away, he charged the Quebeley, latching on to its armor from its blind spot.
He tries reasoning with Ple, but she still maintains her cold-hearted expression. She says that he’s her enemy and she’ll destroy him. Judau asks why and that he’s not the bad guy here and even tries to tell her that he bought her a chocolate parfait. Angered, she recalls the funnels and fires them on the back of the Zeta.
Still trying to persuade her, he opens the cockpit hatch of the Zeta (the Zeta didn’t stand a chance against her anyways). He shoots out of the cockpit and latches onto the cockpit hatch of the Quebeley. He begs Ple to open the hatch. From inside, Ple could see just how reckless he was being. As he’s slamming on the hatch calling out to her, Ple suddenly recalls his voice. With a trembling hand, she opens the hatch.
Entering, he notices that Ple isn’t herself. As he’s hugging Ple, she continues to repeat that he’s the enemy. He ponders whether she was drugged and shakes her slightly. Just then, the suit shook, contact was made from the side. The cockpit of the other suit opened, and Glemy leaned forward. Over the radio, he asks if he’s the Argama pilot Judau Ashita. Judau asks why he wants to know his name, and Glemy introduces himself and says he’s watching over his sister Leina.
Angered, Judau accuses him of kidnapping his sister. He says he didn’t and that he merely took her away from her ill-bred brother to raise her as a proper lady. Judau is shocked, but Glemy says she has something good going for her. Judau demands Glemy give her back, but he moves away from the suits and says that he will die here. Judau rushes back to the Zeta and assumes a fighting stance, so Ple isn’t involved.
Glemy notices a shimmering aura rising from the gap in the Zeta Gundam’s armor, but it was gone in an instant. He wonders what the hell it was, his heart racing like crazy. Judau’s tremendous surge also reached Haman on the bridge of her ship. She wonders whether the pressure was from that boy Judau. She says that boy is like a Newtype, but he’s something different.
Judau demands Leina be returned to him, drawing the Zeta’s beam saber and slashing at Glemy. Glemy asks why Ple isn’t attacking, to which Judau scolds him asking if he can do anything without relying on Ple. He pulls back to a safe distance where he could fire his beam rifle. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, a huge shadow slipped between the two suits.
It was an old fashioned transport ship. Three mobile suits popped out from the rear deck of the ship. They flew straight toward the Zeta Gundam, causing Judau to yell out. They were Shangri-La’s mobile suits: the Geze. Each suit was painted like traffic light colors (red, yellow, and green).
Judau was so stunned he forgot to fight back or retreat. The red armored Geze grabbed the Zeta’s right arm. A familiar voice poured out of the speakers in the Zeta Gundam. Judau asks who it is, and the voice asks whether or not he’s forgotten his voice already. Judau is confused but chokes out Mashymre Cello’s name. Mashymre is delighted that Judau remembers his name. Wearing a normal suit in the cockpit of the Geze, he waved a single rose.
The yellow-armored Geze grabbed the Zeta’s left arm. Judau is shocked that it’s Gemon Bajack. The third green-armored Geze swooped over from the front, telling them not to let go. It was an unmistakable voice: Yazan Gable. Carrying a stick, the Geze came at the Zeta, yelling that it would finish it off once and for all.
