GUNDAM F90FF [CHAPTER.01]

A bright light floating in the darkness. To the young man, it was…

Universal Century 0111. The Earth Federation Forces ordered development of next generation mainstay mobile suits. The requirement was difficult to deliver on, for a small-scale mobile suit that can be easily supplied, without losing out on the performance of existing machines. In response to this, the winner of an eventual competition, developed by SNRI, a military research facility with its base of operations located at Side 4, was the F90. There were two F90 units, Unit 1 and Unit 2. They were assigned to the Earth Federation Forces System Command in a Team A and Team B of the 13th Experimental Squadron. Their final goals were to discover defects during testing and to acquire data from the new mission packs development test. In the following year, U.C.0112, both those teams spent their days conducting tests in space and on land. Those tests, “should” have been highly confidential and known only to a few…

The test was successful. However, whose eyes are on the B Team?!

GUNDAM SENTINEL MANGA

My quest for Gundam material doesn’t seem to know any bounds. I’ve been trying to acquire random Model Graphix issues from yesteryear in attempt to see what changed from original serialization to compilation. One of the odd materials that I noticed was the absence of a color page from the manga short by Hajime Katoki called “The Day Before – New Desides: Eve of Formation.” Granted, color really shouldn’t make a difference, but I’m a stickler for uniformity. At any rate, enjoy the 5-page short that takes place prior to the Pezun Incident!

GUNDAM F90FF [PROLOGUE]

U.C.0120. Twenty four years have already passed since the Third Neo Zeon War, a conflict involving Laplace’s box. In the time since then, though small and mid-scale conflicts sprung up in various places, it could be said that humanity as a whole today had achieved peace. The Earth Federation government made no attempt to change that political system, governing society from the surface of the planet. Progress still continued, albeit slowly. However, in recent years, a terrorist organization advocating for the independence of spacenoids, free from the oversight of the Federation Forces, began carrying out large scale activities. They were called the Oldsmobile. Their armed conflict would later be known as the First Oldsmobile War. Two years following their defeat at their own base on Mars, they are revived with newfound strength and once again threatened the Earth Sphere.

FORMULA WARS 0122

Breaking another translation dry spell of sorts, I’m diving into the pre-F91 world again with a relatively old Gundam comic from 1991’s Gundam Magazine. It’s called “Formula Wars 0122.” U.C.0122. One year prior to the completion of the F91, an organization known as Oldsmobile was active. The Earth Federation Forces had organized a unit to suppress them, but outer space has once again turned into a battleground. A courageous young man fights with a Gundam in order to protect the peace, yet many sacrifices are made…  You can download the one-shot manga here.

RANDOM BACKGROUND INFO AGAIN

With the announcement this month of a continuation to the F90 manga, I thought I’d dive back in to some older, lesser known material. Coming from SUPER MJ BANDAI MAKING JOURNAL Mobile Suit Gundam “Latest Mobile Suit Modeling Data Collection” (what a title!), you can now read about the whole picture behind SNRI’s Formula Project! Keep in mind that this book came out in 1992 so some of the model numbers and information presented in it have been changed over the years (as can be seen with the G-Cannon Magna having the model number of F70B instead of F71B). Click here to dive into the info!

THE GHOST OF NEO ZEON

In light of people seeing Gundam Narrative in theaters and having a bizarre reaction to Newtype resonance and psycho frame mumbo jumbo, I thought I’d introduce a relatively old Gundam comic from 1991’s Gundam Magazine that exhibits an external mobile suit control system via the psycommu. It’s called “The Ghost of Neo Zeon. You can download the one-shot manga here.

RX-78NT-2 GUNDAM NT-2

Been a while since I posted some random material. Here‘s a profile page for a suit from the 0080 MSV line! The plamodel appeared in B-CLUB 44 back in July of 1989 so I decided to colorize some lineart instead! You can still see the original source page at the bottom if you’re into some retro builds!

Unfortunately I had to delete all blog users due to rampant spam issues and inactivity. In 8+ years of having this particular theme I acquired over 23,000 registrations. B-CLUB 28/1988.3 MS-16 GEARA DOGA

Today I’m showcasing some older designs of the Geara Doga line that the mechanical designer Izubuchi crafted when Char’s Counterattack was being drafted. Much like the Sazabi Prototype, these were some of the rejected designs (which were later picked up by Kondo in his manga adaptations). Interesting to note is that the buckethead design showcased here as the MS-16F appears in the manga version of Beltorchika’s Children. You can view the data here. As always, more tidbits to come!
