AMS-119S Geara Doga Kai (Lehr Doga)
It is a standard specification commonly used as an Aggressor within the Instructor Corps and the 13th Experimental Combat Group. It carries the same rifle, shield, and backpack used by the RGM-89 Jegan. Sid Amber, following the theft of the F90 Unit 2 in U.C. 0120, painted his own AMS-119S for Bosch Weller and participated in the Martian War (the First Oldsmobile War).

AMS-119S Geara Doga Kai (CCA-MSV)
A modified version for commanders of the AMS-119 developed on the eve of Char’s Rebellion, with only a few units produced. The armor has been changed to Gundarium-based material, and the sensor avionics have undergone significant improvements. While a few units were produced for special operations, Neo Zeon in its financially strained state couldn’t afford mass production. The circumstances surrounding Buffo’s acquisition of the same unit remain a mystery.

AMS-119S GEARA DOGA KAI (LEHR DOGA)

Long time no see. This is Gettle Dupre. I’m delighted to contribute to Mobile Machine again from the perspective of an active duty officer. On a personal note, I finally got hold of the McKinley version of “The Complete Series of Popular Songs” disc during my time with the Instructor Corps. Seriously, Side 1 has everything! I feel strongly that we, the youth, must raise our voices against such economic disparities between the Sides.

As you know, the critical mission of the Earth Federation Forces Instructor Corps is to engage in simulated combat with friendly forces against enemy units, thereby enhancing our readiness for impending emergencies. For this purpose, the Instructor Corps maintains several enemy mobile suits that have been captured or copied and provides education to be outstanding pilots. In times past, it was with the MS-06 (Zaku II), and currently, it’s the XM-05B (Berga-Barus).

And in the Trimurti incident of U.C.0116, it was the AMS-119S Geara Doga Kai.

GEARA DOGA KAI

The development history behind the AMS-119 Geara Doga is not clear. Some theories suggest that it was based on a prototype developed internally in Axis after the return of the asteroid Axis to Earth——either referred to as the AMS-117B Doga or AMX-012 Guzza——but it is uncertain. Another theory suggests that it was developed at Sweetwater based on the late model of the AMX-011 Zaku III, developed at the end of the Haman War. There is also a theory that the Anaheim Electronics Granada Factory developed it as a successor to the MSA-002 Marasai, which was then secretly handed over to Char through backdoor dealings.

Regardless, this suit was mass-produced by Anaheim Electronics and deployed to Zeon-affiliated armed organizations around U.C.0090. Its solid design, returning to the basics of MS-06, and high performance, comparable to the early model of RGM-89 Jegan, continued to support Char and his successors.

× × ×

Since Char’s rebellion, the Instructor Corps has been conducting mock battles using captured Geara Doga, giving them high praise as “excellent in versatility, with superior response transmission compared to the RGM series,” and strongly desiring their deployment.

Char Deikun may have disappeared at Axis, but it was clear that his followers were lurking on every Side, and there was no doubt about the need to research the combat techniques of enemy mobile suits. However, General Staff Headquarters couldn’t meet this need due to the complex development history surrounding the Geara Doga. It was obvious that the mass production of this unit was the responsibility of Anaheim’s Granada headquarters (probably the Zeonic branch), but they couldn’t just ask Anaheim to sell the AMS-119. However, copying AMS-119 at the factory side risked infringing upon Anaheim’s intellectual property rights. Just because the terrorists (and probably Anaheim) were copying the AMS-119 across various factories doesn’t mean the military can do the same. Ah, bureaucracy!

In response, the Strategic Naval Research Institute (SNRI) proposed a groundbreaking solution. Buffo Junk Inc., which recovered AMS-119 in space, would copy it, and Anaheim would assist in providing necessary parts for that copy, such as the fusion reactor and weapons FCS.

In other words, they cleared parts that infringed on Anaheim’s intellectual property rights by treating them as the company’s new development, and the bad publicity of mass-producing Zeon’s units was ambiguously glossed over as “a junk dealer reversed engineered a terrorist’s suit.”

Buffo had already secured three S-type AMS-119s in good condition, and the necessary parts were provided surprisingly quickly from Anaheim upon consultation. It was in May U.C.0096.

× × ×

Until now, the Instructor Corps has been using captured or independently developed machines as virtual enemy units, aka aggressor units. So, for the Federation Forces as a whole, this is the first time since the RRf-16 Zanny that they have copied a Zeon machine and produced it in mass quantities. This speaks to the impact of Char’s Rebellion. For the design base, they used the AMS-119S Geara Doga Kai, a commander model of the AMS-119. Following the RGM-87C BR-GM, they received design support from Side 2’s NAMSD Lab (currently under SNRI), which has a significant number of personnel involved in the TR Project. The armor material is a Gundarium composite like the prototype, and the head has been changed to a type with goggles out of political consideration for the mono-eye (a waste of taxpayers’ money).

In the early model, a “copy” of the generator with the same output as the AMS-119 was installed, but after modifications in U.C. 0106, the output was upgraded to 2,860 kW, allowing for the utilization of high-output firearms. This was achieved through a repurposed reactor from the AMX-011S Zaku III Custom that Anaheim acquired. It’s worth noting that four additional heat radiation ducts were added to accommodate the operation of the high-output generator.

The leg design focused on ease of maintenance, and increased compatibility with the RGM-89 Jegan, with about 50% shared parts, but the handling characteristics remained largely unchanged. This is something I can attest to from my test flight experience.

The backpack, waist armor, and shoulder armor are highly modularized and can be swapped out with multiple units, regardless of whether they are for the Federation Forces (Titans) or Zeon. This is to mimic the enemy units’ characteristics, like the AMX-011 Zaku III and AMX-014 Doven Wolf, as much as possible to facilitate training.

Although numerous innovations were incorporated into the AMS-119S copied by Buffo, the Federation Forces did not officially adopt it, so it was not assigned a new model number. I heard that when it was necessary to distinguish the original machine within the Instructor Corps, “Lehr Doga” (meaning Doga for Instructor Corps) was used.

The suit proved popular among soldiers of the AEUG/Titans who had been trained with Zeon-based mobile suits, and although in small numbers, it was test-deployed to the Colony Defense Forces and used to supplement the numbers of the Side squadrons.

It’s presumed that the Charles Rochester unit in the Trimurti incident was equipped with a backpack for the AMS-014 Doven Wolf and a hidden arm module from the AMS-011 Zaku III and carried a mega particle cannon-equipped shield modified from an AMX-107 Bawoo. This is a common armament for a fourth-generation mobile suit aggressor. Other options included a tri-blade, arm punch, and heat rod.

The AMS-119S was also deployed as an aggressor unit to the 13th Experimental Battle Group, which has deep ties with SNRI and the Instructor Corps. When they descended to Mars as the 13th Autonomous Mobile Fleet, they also fought with the Zeon Independent Mars Forces. At this time, the commander on the Oldsmobile side was the Instructor Corps veteran Bosch Weller, who was heavily involved in the development of the Lehr Doga. It’s historical irony as Weller is recorded as having fought with Sid Amber’s Lehr Doga, who is his apprentice. To prevent such tragedies from recurring, I keenly feel the need for us, the Gatie Party, to expel the corrupt supporters of Anaheim and the Ronah family in the next election and create a Side 2 that upholds integrity and values our mothers. Your support is greatly appreciated.
