BACKGROUND

The Virgo mobile doll, deployed during Operation Nova, demonstrated high perfprmance through its conquest of the Earth. Due to this, OZ focused on further increasing production and strengthening of these weapons. Using the Virgo as a base, OZ constructed the Virgo II as a successor unit. White Fang, however, confiscated the units and made further modifications to them. In contrast to the Virgo, improvements in mobility via a mounted backpack were achieved. In terms of weaponry, the standard beam cannon was replaced with an excellent rotation system of three kinds of weapons: a mega beam cannon, beam rifle and beam sabers. In addition to this, the planet defensers were also increased; their limited defense range that was originally a fault for the Virgo was improved upon. Rather than using units solely as remote control units, the White Fang adopted a method of controlling them via a centralized control room installed on the Libra. During a battle in AC-195, Zechs and Dorothy were able to operate them with a high spacial cognitive ability, enabling them to attack the Gundam team with more complex tactics.

EQUIPMENT EXPOSITION/OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE

[A]: Overall view of the shoulder armor and moving backpack. A beam rifle and thruster nozzles are stored in the lower portion with a beam saber in the shoulder armor.

[B]: Optional equipment: a beam cannon possessing overwhelming destructive power. A cable connected with the butt of the barrel is linked to the backpack for energy supply.

[C]: A beam rifle becomes the main armament for the Virgo II. Due to the cartridge type, there is concern over energy cuts but the management if exceptionally well compared to the mega beam cannon.
