BACKGROUND
This unit is the main weapon of the Zeon Air Force. Although it has a very unique shape to its body, this is due to a pursuit of mobility through a control configured vehicle (CCV). Although original designing and commutation tests were conducted on Side 3, it was necessary to perform production on the Earth. However, should potential enemy nations of the Federation become public, development of combat weapons on Earth would not be possible. There are still many unknowns as to how this unit reached mass production. One researcher published a theory questioning whether a paper company was utilized. In other words, a neutral power is bypassed meaning that an airplane manufacturer was commissioned to develop it and falsified the machines as an aircraft manufacturer “marketing to the Federation Air Force.” However, this theory did not have any concrete evidence to back it up.
