The general election had come to a close. Under the leadership of party leader Fonse Kagatie, the corrupt politicians of Amelia were, in no uncertain terms, culled by the merciless guillotine. In the process, many were identified as sympathizers of the Zabi family among those who claimed to be the Amelia Freedom Party, thus underscoring the still-present and significant influence of Gihren Zabi.

So, in this article, let’s take a closer look at the “permeation” of the Zabi family once again through the variation of the AMX-011 Zaku III, known as the AMX-011CR Zaku III High Mobility Type.

The AMX-011, which was being developed as the main mass-produced mobile suit of Haman’s Forces following the Gaza series, was deployed in combat earlier than expected. By the time of the Dakar occupation in August U.C.0088, it was already deployed in combat, and an early production type was confirmed during the Kilimanjaro campaign in September and the Battle of Dublin at the end of October.

The development of the AMX-011 involved staff who had worked on the MS-06R High Mobility Zaku and the MS-14 Gelgoog. By incorporating highly modular design elements into the head armor, backpack, skirt armor, and shoulder armor, the AMX-011 was envisioned to be adaptable for various missions. This design ethos seemingly evolved from what was seen in the MS-14. The AMX-011 boasted firepower that could be considered as that of a fourth-generation mobile suit, with three directly linked mega particle cannons on its back and a missile launcher (when equipped as standard). However, due to the prioritization of the AMX-014 Doven Wolf, which could be considered a simplified mass-production version of the MRX-010 Psyco Gundam Mk-II, its production numbers remained limited.

Owing to the Dublin Agreement, the Haman Khan regime took control of Side 3 from the Federation Government. (Even today, Zabi family loyalists cling to the notion that this agreement remains unbroken). However, the intervention of the AEUG’s Gundam Team during the rebellion led by Glemmy Toto at the end of U.C. 0088 and their actions after Haman Khan’s death led to the gradual liberation of Side 3 by the Earth Federation Forces, the AEUG, and the Republic Forces.

However, this by no means spelled the demise of the Zabi loyalists. From either Rhein Dragun’s “Legacy” to the suppression fleets sent to various Sides and the Moon, these forces were largely unscathed. Their unwavering resolve was evident—they decided to continue their armed struggle in homage to the Zabi family, even after the deaths of Haman and Glemmy.

Their bases were established in shoal zones, deep space, as well as Mars and Jupiter. Neither the Londo Bell nor the Federation Forces were granted the authority or capability to probe these areas. All that Amuro Ray and Bright Noa could accomplish was a meticulous, almost pedantic, investigation of each colony.

The fall of the Titans and the absorption of the AEUG into the government only intensified the anti-Earth Federation movement and, paradoxically, increased the Zabi family’s influence.

The Titans’ destruction of Side 2 colonies in December U.C. 0087, coupled with the Colony 30 Incident, etched the threat of the Federation’s “white terror” into the minds of space citizens. Furthermore, the broad economic sanctions against colonies leaning toward the Spacenoids on August 26, U.C. 0089, only underscored the prevailing disappointment in the then-regime, which was seen as pro-AEUG. People believed the Federation never intended to support the Spacenoids, forgoing their responsibilities as rulers (a belief we now recognize as fact. Long live Amelia’s independence!).

Amid the hope for the return of Mineva Zabi, the rightful queen of Zeon, or the rumored progeny of either Gihren or Degwin, Glemmy Toto, the Zabi Family loyalists were searching for a different path in their clandestine factories, unlike the followers of Char Deikun.

Such Haman supporters developed a mobile suit known as the AMX-011CR Zaku III High Mobility Type.

This model is part of the AMX-011C Zaku III Late Type series. A stark difference from its predecessor is the omission of its snout mega particle cannon and a significantly enhanced generator output of 800 kW. This sets it apart from the Deikun faction’s AMS-119 Geara Doga, which focused on quantity; this model hinted at its primary function: high-performance acts of terror in limited numbers.

In terms of simple catalog specifications, this unit’s performance surpasses even the RF-series of the Mars Independent Zeon Forces. Of course, the AMS-119 and RF-series have the advantage in cost and production efficiency, and they can’t be directly compared (it’s like comparing a family car to a sports car).

The CR-type is characterized by significantly increasing the propellant capacity of the backpack for extended operations, approximately three times that of the C-type. It is specialized for hit-and-run battles in space combat. The unit was supplied to Legacy and NSP, and some of its operational data contributed to the development of the AMS-119 Geara Doga.

After the death of Full Frontal, the various Zeon remnants’ factions that had been rallied by him, known as the “Sleeves,” would once again splinter into different groups. One of these factions is the “Gwynedd Volunteer Forces.” They frequently employ AMX-011CR units painted in gray, and they are presumed to be a splinter group of Glemmy’s forces.

The activities of these activists, who call for the withdrawal of the Federation Forces stationed on Side 3’s colony, Gwynedd, have a wide-ranging scope. Between U.C. 0098 and 0112, they were involved in large-scale acts of terrorism on Side 3 and the Moon.

The organization was notoriously enigmatic, possessing seemingly endless funding and a bewildering ethos. They are neither mere thugs relying on brutality nor fanatical zealots dedicated to an ideology. They abruptly declared an end to their activities in U.C. 0112.

Since then, there have been no reports of their activities　or splinter factions, including any response to the uprising request from “Legacy.”

While this is purely speculative, there is a strong suspicion that this terrorist organization may have links to Anaheim Electronics’ sabotage division. Their targets of destruction have always been institutions and organizations that impede Anaheim’s business.

Although this may sound merely like conspiracy theory territory, it’s backed up by the fact that many members of the “Gwynedd Volunteer Forces,” including Newtype Rivera Amalgam, who once belonged to the AEUG, were subsequently assigned to different departments within Anaheim after U.C. 0112, with their identities concealed. This fact suggests that the Zabi family loyalists are operating as agents on the Moon, suggesting that the lunar central government isn’t really an ally to space citizens but acts solely based on Lunarian interests.
