Vol.22 AMX-101S Gallus-S

A.O.Z Re-boot Vol.22 AMX-101S ガルスS
Vol.22 AMX-101S Gallus-S

A variant of the AMX-101 Gallus-J, originally developed by Haman Karn’s Neo Zeon for Earth invasion operations. This specialized version, manufactured and developed in Martian facilities, was optimized for ground combat on Mars, enhancing the Gallus-J’s close-quarters combat capabilities. As indicated by its model number suffix, this unit served as a commander’s custom machine, deployed either as a frontline command unit or escort mobile suit. Its distinctive red and white two-tone color scheme derives from the historic Kycilia Special Service. This color pattern became emblematic of Zeon Mars, where Kycilia faction members formed the majority, and was predominantly used by Chester’s guard unit during Zeon Mars’ period of Martian dominance. The unit comes equipped with a heat lance and distinctive circular shield, the latter being specifically identified as guard corps specification.

[Legacy of the Outlaws and Their Successors]
Known as “Outlaw Chester” on Mars circa U.C.0091, he reportedly piloted Gyan-series mobile suits as a member of Kycilia’s Special Service during the One Year War. After fleeing to Mars as a senior officer among Kycilia faction remnants, he maintained his devotion to machines bearing the traditional guard corps colors. Notable guard corps mobile suits include the Gaz-R from the late U.C.0080s era. The distinctive red and white guard corps color scheme would later resurface on machines like the captured Gundam F90 (Mars Independent Zeon Forces Specification) and Commander Charles Rochester’s custom Gelgoog, both operated by the Mars Independent Zeon Forces (Oldsmobile) during their rise to power in the U.C.0120s. This continuation of the color scheme symbolically represents how the young Zeon Mars recruits mentored by Chester matured to inherit both his ideological legacy and the organization’s iconic livery.

Chester’s personal unit as supreme commander of Zeon Mars following their defeat and transformation into a guerrilla force. Like other mobile suits in the Chester Fleet, it was repainted in desert camouflage for Martian guerrilla warfare operations. During the Plant assault phase of Operation Radiant Star, the unit performed command duties and escorted the crucial Adzam-class mobile armor. It was equipped with a large-scale beam cannon for medium-range support, executing precision strikes from distance after the Adzam-class’s “Omega Storm” disrupted enemy visibility and detection capabilities. Notably, the S-type’s improved torso and leg sections bear striking similarities to the AMX-004 Qubeley’s specifications, suggesting shared fundamental frame architecture between the two designs.
