GUNDAM SENTINEL 0079
A short story titled that debuted in two installments in Model Graphix magazine in May and July of 1990. The story portrays the battle of Solomon during the One Year War as seen by Tosh Cray and Stole Mannings. Some of the design work from this series would be rolled into later productions, albeit with modifications) like Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 (as the GM C-Type, Zaku F2 Type and the Ball Type C) and 08th MS Team. This work would also mark the first appearance of the RX-78-2 Gundam (Sentinel 0079 Version), later to be known as Ver.Ka, which only appears in a single cut of the second half of the story. Other refined designs that appear in the work include the Big Zam, Gattle, Public and the Salamis.
The tides of the war had fluctuated. The Earth Federation Forces, excited over their victory at Odessa Day, was gradually widening their superiority over the Principality of Zeon forces. It is December U.C.0079 and the battlefield has shifted to outer space. The Federation Forces, whose strategy was to advance to the Zeon homeland, would first attack the Principality Forces Solomon space assault base and charged into the Battle of Solomon on December 27th. Among the battalions commanded by Admiral Tianem at the battle, the form of the Pegasus-class as the 13th Autonomous Corps can be seen. And in the main forces, two other people could be seen as mere “mobile infantry.”
Kerry West: Age 27. Rank is Ensign. Commander of the 311th Ball Company. Kerry worked together with Stole Mannings and Tosh Cray as a member of the 120th GM Company at the battle of Solomon. Strangely, eight years later his brother Tex would be battling against his former comrade, Cray.
